Yesterday was my last day at Target, my place of employment since the ripe ol' age of seventeen (Maybe that's the reason all of the guests think I'm still in high school. Target is somehow the fountain of youth for me and has frozen me for time and all eternity!). It was nice for a variety of reasons.

Firstly, we practical joked people. The tripod opened the store together (The cute name Stephanie gave the Rachel+Stephanie+Lauren combo) which is always fun and we ended up with this huge box after unpacking accessories. Rachel said she wanted to get in it really badly, and I supported that decision. This escalated to sticking Stephanie inside and tricking people into helping Rachel "lift this really heavy box" in the backroom. I pretended I was throwing cardboard away and did not talk at all because, let's be real, I'd blow our cover real fast. I laughed so hard I cried, however. Which blew our cover a little bit. People got suspicious real quick.

Secondly, it was pleasant because Rachel aka cutest boss ever, put together a little "Lauren's leaving and going on a mission" scrapbook and it just touched me so much! Most of the people I work with are non-members but it was so great to hear how excited and supportive they are of me still. So grateful for Target today.

(This was my favorite part. Kevin is the biiiiig store boss. Like the real deal. And he's always kind of intimidated me. I half smile when I see him and keep on walking. So even though I've worked there for like 5 years, don't really know the guy. And as demonstrated by what he wrote me, he has no idea who I am either. Which is hilarious to me. 1. I am not transferring to the Orem store. 2. I have never done any transitioning with you. I am the operator. I answer the phones and make sure people don't steal stuff in the fitting room. Hilarious! I love it!)

So pleased. Word.

I have some of the best guy friends ever. How lucky am I that iI get them in Provo AND South Jordan? It is the best thing ever to move home for the break and to move my friends with me. I spent the night last night just me and the boys. Watched some Fight Club, planned some bachelor parties, you know. The usual. They did make me wear earmuffs for part of the bachelor party planning, though. I'm a lady.

thankful november [[week four]]

This break I have been completely overwhelmed with how grateful I am for the people in my life. You know how sometimes you just look at the people around you and want to cry cause you adore them so dang much? I felt that way ALL WEEK LONG. I am so grateful for my wonderful family and friends. The people in my life will be the hardest part about leaving on a mission. Even more than not being able to wear cardigans. This week has been bliss.

Things that made me grateful this week:

+hanging out with jake drzayich three days in a row. i just am crazy about that guy so it was wonderful to just listen to music, eat cookies, throw pumpkins, eat sandwiches, and talk with that guy. i am so lucky i got to see him one more time before i leave on my mission.

+ropes course date with larsen. & beating him at every race we did.

+watching the guardian & having it be a pleasant experience this time around. :)

+having absolutely zero classes this week.

+and even though it'll kick me in the butt later, i am grateful for doing no homework this week.

+thanksgiving food. specificially zucchini, bacon, & onions.

+dallin hiding gingerale for us under the table so we could sneak more without mom noticing.

+jesse hancock. and scrabble matches.

+black friday shopping with larsen, jesse, and michelle. we started at midnight like all the hardcores out there but i think we had a lot more fun than all of the hardcores out there. also i'm grateful for the free hot chocolate we got.

Things that made me grateful this week:

+my mom. i complained this weekend about having to cook for dinner group when my day was going to be so busy and she drove down to provo with cooked food, halloween table cloths, and halloween candy for me to claim as my own.

+96% on my humanities paper. i will be grateful until i die.

+this mormon message video.

+hot tubs that are open until one in the morning.

+daylight savings.

+shopping trips with my family.

+karaoke at gurus. belting out love is a battlefield. from the audience.

+my wonderful job and the wonderful people that i work with.

+weddings. and larsen going with me even though he really wanted to watch the alabama lsu game. and saying to me as i went to catch the bouquet "do it for us, hon".

+jesse hancock and his superb comforting skills when i had a traumatic weekend.

+cuddling. i will forever be grateful for cuddling.
