thankful november [[week four]]

This break I have been completely overwhelmed with how grateful I am for the people in my life. You know how sometimes you just look at the people around you and want to cry cause you adore them so dang much? I felt that way ALL WEEK LONG. I am so grateful for my wonderful family and friends. The people in my life will be the hardest part about leaving on a mission. Even more than not being able to wear cardigans. This week has been bliss.

Things that made me grateful this week:

+hanging out with jake drzayich three days in a row. i just am crazy about that guy so it was wonderful to just listen to music, eat cookies, throw pumpkins, eat sandwiches, and talk with that guy. i am so lucky i got to see him one more time before i leave on my mission.
+ropes course date with larsen. & beating him at every race we did.
+watching the guardian & having it be a pleasant experience this time around. :)
+having absolutely zero classes this week.
+and even though it'll kick me in the butt later, i am grateful for doing no homework this week.
+thanksgiving food. specificially zucchini, bacon, & onions.
+dallin hiding gingerale for us under the table so we could sneak more without mom noticing.
+jesse hancock. and scrabble matches.
+black friday shopping with larsen, jesse, and michelle. we started at midnight like all the hardcores out there but i think we had a lot more fun than all of the hardcores out there. also i'm grateful for the free hot chocolate we got.
+friend sleepovers after black friday shopping.
+friend pizza parties.
+coy and wendell mickelsen.
+megan christiansen and her 19 years of being alive.
+sweet tomatoes.
+the lights downtown.
+alisha & her husband hanging out with us.
+prankdial.com
+braving h&m and getting a missionary bag!
+being able to listen to christmas music without people getting angry at me.
+rob making comments about how sad he will be when february comes because that means he won't see me anymore.
+my mom who lets my friends eat all of her pumpkin cake.

Currently playing: Grim Grinning Ghosts [Haunted Mansion]

I had kind of a weird weekend.
the so-frustrating-i-want-to-scream-kind-of-weird (and I did).
I'm happy I have a cute family who is there for me always.
And a roommate who is protective of me.
And a mom who cooks dinner for me because I have so much to do.
And high school friends who I can just sit with and have so much fun.
And that I have the most awesome Halloween playlist on Pandora right now.
It's the little things, people.

PS I read in one of my textbooks that people who give at least five good hugs a day are happier people in general. I've been trying to hug five different people a day (for at least five seconds because that's how long they need to be to facilitate bonding) And it's totally legit. I'm one happy camper.

we'll always remember the blue and the white

today i went to my little sisters graduation. it's so crazy to think that it's already been two years since i graduated high school. all day i've been reflecting on that day and realized i never journaled about it or anything. and i will probably continue forgetting details at a rapid rate. so i'm going to write about it now. :)

mitchell, alyssa, and i left way late that morning and barely made it on time. i will always remember that. traffic was horrendous, we had to run through the parking lot, and boy i hated that cap. it kept falling off as we ran. i have too much hair to have that hat fit right.

i remember standing in the girl tunnel with my beautiful friends, and i already was getting emotional. we stood in a circle and said a quiet prayer that we could have a happy graduation and realize that it wasn't the end of the world, leaving each other and bingham. i cried a lot that day (i feel silly in retrospect. but at the same time it warms my heart because it means i care so much for those people in my life. that part i like.). the madrigals sang for good from wicked and i lost it. good thing the maher family provided some comic relief up in the corner with the huge manikin they brought. they flung that thing around like crazy. mostly i just remember being incredibly grateful for the wonderful people in my life.

oh yeah, and then my family drove home without me. they thought i was going home with someone else. so they had to drive back after they went to subway. good thing i had mitch's grandma to keep me company.

it was fun to see my little sister experience that today. she's so talented and beautiful and lovely and the world has a lot of big plans for her. and now she gets to come to come be a cougar with me and realize that college officially is the best thing ever. cause you can go shopping at two in the morning if you want to. and you spend way too much money on cupcakes.
