things i never want to forget

things i never want to forget {sophomore year version}

-getting the cops called on me for the first time. jake drzayich + alise burgess + travis burk + lauren christiansen + throwing dirt clots at jake's apartment + running around + hiding behind cars + people thinking alise and i were breaking into a car = quite an evening.

-snowshoeing with preston redd at 11:00 on a sunday night. it was cold, i fell a lot, i tripped preston a lot, and i loved every second of it. plus i have never seen more stars than i did that february night.

-most wonderful visit to logan ever with my best friend mitchell sorensen and the lovely michelle boyer. we laughed (hard), slept (little), and loved (a lot. i am absolutely smitten with my friends). we had dance parties, walked around and looked at pumpkins, ate yummy aeble skivers, had mobile dance parties, and had girl talks.

-relaxing on a sunday afternoon with my best friend outside the beautiful provo library. we talked about how funny life is and laughed at my white legs.

-how excited and flattered i was to be invited to be in a dinner group with some of the most wonderful people i've ever met {mack + jake drzayich, randy gilliland, travis burk, amy brown, lindsey muir, and jocelyn peck}. we mastered our british accents, ate lots of spaghetti and grilled cheese (drzayich specialities), and these cute people helped me realize a little more about who i am and who i want to be.

-cam lyon visits. i never want to forget how absolutely touched i was when he gave me a hug, his eyes tearing up, telling me how beautiful i was. (every girl deserves a friend who does that to her.)

-how excited i was for days after my sister called to inform me that she was accepted into byu. i may have been more excited than she was. it was all i could talk about for about 233 days.

-becoming friends with travis burk and having fun nights where we challenged ourselves to see how long we could encourage alise to dance for us (33 minutes).

-song writing/ singing party with alise burgess and tyler mcarthur. we laughed, belted our guts out, and forgot all about the tasty curry sitting on the table.

-fabric shopping with preston. he went shopping by himself, hid all of the fabrics he liked, came to our apartment, drove back to the store with us in tow, and showed us his favorites. i laughed so hard and grew to like that boy even more.

-touring shriners hospital and receiving a quiet personal confirmation that i am going to be working in the field that is absolutely perfect for me. that hour took away any feeling of doubt or worry that i was going down a wrong path. therapeutic recreation is a perfect fit.

-spending a friday night watching foreign films in the byu library with rob mayfield, tyler mcarther, rex mcarthur, ben haymond, and my beautiful little sister.

-how truly beautiful i felt after listening to stephanie nielson speak at byu. it reinforced in me the belief that everyone is beautiful. and it is a shame if anyone (including myself) feels any different.

-hot springs. running through the 4 foot deep snow in just my swimming suit and falling repeatedly.

-best friend eric schofield finally came home. my family made fun of me cause of how i just would stare at him.

sophomore year made me laugh more, work harder, and live more than i ever expected.
